ALLIANCE A041701: A Randomized Phase II/III Study of Conventional Chemotherapy +/- Uproleselan (GMI-1271) in Older Adults with Acute Myeloid Leukemia Receiving Intensive Induction Chemotherapy

Cancer Internal Medicine Leukemia Adult Subjects

This phase II/III trial studies how well daunorubicin and cytarabine with or without uproleselan works in treating older adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia receiving intensive induction chemotherapy. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as daunorubicin and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Uproleselan may prevent cancer from returning or getting worse. Giving daunorubicin and cytarabine with uproleselan may work better in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia compared to daunorubicin and cytarabine alone.

An Open-Label, Multicenter, Phase 1/2 Study of RP1 as a Single Agent and in Combination with PD1 Blockade in Patients with Solid Tumors

Cancer Internal Medicine Lung Cancer Melanoma Skin Cancer Adult Subjects Female Subjects Male Subjects

The Phase 2 study is a multicenter, open-label study of RP1 to further investigate safety and to estimate the efficacy of RP1 at the RP2D in combination with nivolumab in patients with Stage IIIb-IV unresectable melanoma, microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) or mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) solid tumors, non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

EA8153: Cabazitaxel with Abiraterone versus Abiraterone alone Randomized Trial for Extensive Disease following Docetaxel: the CHAARTED2 Trial

Cancer Internal Medicine Prostate Cancer Adult Subjects

This randomized phase II trial studies how well abiraterone acetate and antiandrogen therapy, with or without cabazitaxel and prednisone, work in treating patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer previously treated with docetaxel that has spread to other parts of the body. Androgens can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Hormone therapy using abiraterone acetate and antiandrogen therapy may fight prostate cancer by lowering and/or blocking the use of androgens by the tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cabazitaxel and prednisone, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving abiraterone acetate and antiandrogen therapy with or without cabazitaxel and prednisone may help kill more tumor cells.

ORION-4

Internal Medicine Vascular Disease Heart Disease Adult Subjects

ORION-4 is a research study coordinated by the University of Oxford and co-sponsored by The University of Oxford and Novartis (Protocol: CTSU\_MDCO-PCS-17-01 (CKJX839B12301)). The study aims to find out if a new cholesterol-lowering injection (inclisiran) safely lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people who have already had one of these conditions, or who have had an operation or procedure to treat blocked arteries.

ECOG-ACRIN EA2165: A Randomized Phase III Study of Nivolumab After Combined Modality Therapy (CMT) in High Risk Anal Cancer

Cancer Internal Medicine Anal Cancer Adult Subjects

This phase III trial investigates how well nivolumab after combined modality therapy works in treating patients with high risk stage II-IIIB anal cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

S1418/BR006: A Randomized, Phase III Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) as Adjuvant Therapy for Triple Receptor-Negative Breast Cancer with >/=1 cm Residual Invasive Cancer or Positive Lymph Nodes (ypN1mi, ypN1-3) Afte…

Cancer Internal Medicine Breast Cancer Adult Subjects

This randomized phase III trial studies how well pembrolizumab works in treating patients with triple-negative breast cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

ALLIANCE A011401: Randomized Phase III trial evaluating the role of weight loss in adjuvant treatment of overweight and obese women with early breast cancer

Cancer Internal Medicine Endocrinology Breast Cancer Diabetes Adult Subjects Female Subjects

This randomized phase III trial studies whether weight loss in overweight and obese women may prevent breast cancer from coming back (recurrence). Previous studies have found that women who are overweight or obese when their breast cancer is found (diagnosed) have a greater risk of their breast cancer recurring, as compared to women who were thinner when their cancer was diagnosed. This study aims to test whether overweight or obese women who take part in a weight loss program after being diagnosed with breast cancer have a lower rate of cancer recurrence as compared to women who do not take part in the weight loss program. This study will help to show whether weight loss programs should be a part of breast cancer treatment.
