Tranexamic acid and placebo will be given during surgery to patients who have elected to undergo lumber interbody fusion on 2 or more levels. Information regarding blood loss, transfusions needed, postoperative cognitive status (including delirium), postoperative markers of systemic inflammation and duration of hospital stay will be collected.

The purpose of this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group phase II trial is to determine whether nicotinamide riboside (NIAGEN®, NR) can ameliorate persistent peripheral neuropathy in cancer survivors who have completed chemotherapy with taxane or platinum-complex compounds between 1 and 12 months earlier.

A study to determine the long-term safety and tolerability of oral lucerastat in adult subjects with Fabry disease. This study includes a sub-study evaluating kidney Gb3 inclusions (and other histologic lesions) in male participants with classic Fabry disease who have been treated for at least 2 years with lucerastat monotherapy in study ID-069A302.

Curcumin and vascular function in CKD

The proposed research is clinical study evaluating the therapeutic benefits of curcumin on vascular function in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study aims to establish that curcumin will improve endothelial function and reduce large artery stiffness by reducing oxidative stress and in conjunction with lowering markers of inflammation and oxidative stress. In addition, the study will evaluate the potential benefit of curcumin on cognitive function in patients with CKD.
